Coming Home to Softness: Reflecting on Amethyst and Beginning Rose Quartz

Before moving into this week’s crystal, I want to take a moment to reflect on my time with Amethyst.

Weekly Crystal Check-In: Amethyst

What did I notice while working with Amethyst?

I noticed that I didn’t allow things to bother me as much. Situations that normally would have lingered in my mind felt easier to release.

Did anything shift emotionally or mentally?

Yes. I felt shifts. I felt more lighthearted.

Those changes may seem small, but they mattered. I could feel myself responding differently. Softer. Calmer. Less weighed down by my own thoughts. With that awareness, I feel ready to step into this next week.

This Week’s Crystal: Rose Quartz

This week, I’ll be working with Rose Quartz.

Rose Quartz is often known as the stone of love, but not just romantic love. It’s deeply connected to self-love, compassion, emotional healing, and gentleness. Its energy feels supportive rather than demanding, which feels important for where I am right now.

After noticing how Amethyst helped me feel lighter, Rose Quartz feels like an invitation to soften even more.

Why I’m Choosing Rose Quartz Right Now

Somewhere along the way, I learned how to be hard on myself. To push through. To dismiss my own feelings. To quietly give up when things felt overwhelming.

Rose Quartz feels like the opposite of that.

This week isn’t about fixing my relationship with myself overnight. It’s about noticing how it feels to treat myself with more kindness. To pause before self-criticism. To respond instead of react.

I’m approaching this week with curiosity, not expectations.

Getting to Know Rose Quartz

Rose Quartz is a pink variety of quartz, ranging from very pale blush to deeper rosy tones. It’s commonly found in places like Brazil, Madagascar, South Africa, and the United States.

It’s often associated with the heart chakra and is commonly used to support emotional healing, compassion, forgiveness, and gentle self-connection.

To me, Rose Quartz feels like a reminder that softness is not weakness. It’s a form of strength we’re often taught to ignore.

How I’m Working With Rose Quartz This Week

This week, I’m keeping Rose Quartz close in simple ways.

I’ll wear it throughout the day and place it near my journal and my bed. I want it present during quiet moments, especially when my inner dialogue starts to turn harsh or dismissive.

If you’re wearing a Rose Quartz bracelet, wearing it on your left hand can help support receiving loving and calming energy.

I’m not asking Rose Quartz to make me love myself perfectly. I’m asking it to sit with me while I practice being gentler.

Cleansing and Charging Rose Quartz

Before beginning the week, I cleanse my Rose Quartz with smoke. Incense, palo santo, or any smoke cleansing method that feels right to you.

To charge it, I hold the crystal, take a few slow breaths, and set a simple intention such as:

“I allow myself to be kind to myself.”

“I am learning to soften.”

“I am worthy of care.”

There is no right or wrong way to do this. Presence matters more than perfection.

Sitting With Self-Love Instead of Forcing It

Self-love doesn’t always feel warm or comforting at first. Sometimes it feels unfamiliar. Sometimes it brings up resistance.

This week, I’m allowing whatever comes up to exist without judgment. I’m reminding myself that returning to myself doesn’t have to be loud or dramatic. It can be quiet. Slow. Honest.

A Question to Sit With This Week

As you move through this week, here’s a gentle question to reflect on:

Where could you offer yourself a little more softness, even if it feels uncomfortable at first?

You don’t need to answer it right away. Just notice.

Weekly Crystal Check-In

At the end of the week, I’ll reflect on a few simple questions:

  • What did I notice while working with Rose Quartz?

  • Did anything shift emotionally or mentally?

  • When did I feel the most gentle with myself?

  • What felt supportive?

You’re welcome to reflect alongside me in whatever way feels right for you.

Looking Ahead: The Crystals I’ll Be Working With

I wanted to share the upcoming flow of this crystal series in case you’d like to work alongside me. If you feel called to gather the crystals ahead of time or follow week by week, this gives you the opportunity to do so.

Here is the current order I’m planning to follow:

  • Week 1: Clear Quartz

  • Week 2: Amethyst

  • Week 3: Rose Quartz

  • Week 4: Green Aventurine

  • Week 5: Hematite

  • Week 6: Tourmalinated Quartz

  • Week 7: Angel Aura Quartz

  • Week 8: Golden Sheen Obsidian

  • Week 9: Amazonite

  • Week 10: Lepidolite

  • Week 11: Unakite

  • Week 12: Black Tourmaline

  • Week 13: Mookaite Jasper

This is my plan as of right now. It may shift as we go, and I’m allowing space for that. If anything changes, I will always let you know.

You’re welcome to join me for one week, a few weeks, or the entire series. There’s no right way to participate. Simply showing up with curiosity is enough.

If You’d Like to Support This Space

If you feel called to work with Rose Quartz or any of the crystals in this series, you can visit my shop to see what I currently have available.

If you’d like to support my work but don’t see something in the shop that feels right for you, I also have tip jars available. There’s no pressure at all. Just an option for those who want to help support this space and the work I’m sharing here.

Thank you for being here and walking through this journey with me.
