Looking Back on My Week With Clear Quartz

After working with Clear Quartz for the past week, I can honestly say I noticed small shifts in myself. Nothing dramatic. Nothing loud. But enough that I could feel them when I slowed down and paid attention.
I tried to remember to cleanse my crystal each morning before setting my intentions. On most days, I used Palo Santo smoke and treated it less like a task and more like a pause. A moment to reset before starting the day.
Those little rituals reminded me that I don’t need to overhaul my life to reconnect with myself. Sometimes it really is about consistency and presence. I’m excited to eventually work with Clear Quartz alongside other crystals and see how their energies play together, but for now, I’m grateful I let myself simply start.
This Week’s Crystal: Amethyst

This week, I’ll be working and sitting with Amethyst.
Amethyst is a purple variety of quartz, with colors ranging from soft lavender to deep violet. You’ll often see it as pointed crystals, clusters, geodes, or single points, and it comes in all sizes. It’s one of the more common crystals, which makes it approachable and easy to find.
Amethyst can be found all over the world, including the United States, Brazil, Uruguay, Canada, Russia, and parts of Africa and India. Even though it’s common, its energy feels anything but ordinary.
A Little About Amethyst

Amethyst gets its purple color from trace amounts of iron and natural irradiation within the earth. Its name comes from the Greek word amethystos, meaning “not intoxicated.” Ancient cultures believed this stone helped keep the mind clear and balanced.
Amethyst is associated with clarity, calm, and spiritual awareness. It has long been connected to the crown chakra and third eye, often used as a support for meditation, intuition, and inner wisdom.
What I appreciate most about Amethyst is that it doesn’t feel forceful. Its energy feels steady and reassuring, like a reminder that it’s safe to slow down and listen inward.
Why I’m Choosing Amethyst Right Now
Amethyst is often associated with calm, emotional balance, and mental clarity. It’s said to help quiet racing thoughts, support restful sleep, and create a sense of inner steadiness.
Right now, that feels like exactly what I need.
I’m not approaching this week with expectations. I’m approaching it with curiosity. I want to see how Amethyst shows up for me, how it feels to work with it intentionally, and what it might gently reveal when I give it my attention.

How I’ll Be Working and Sitting With Amethyst This Week
I’ll be keeping Amethyst close throughout the week. I plan to wear it and let it rest in spaces where I tend to feel overwhelmed or distracted. Sitting with Amethyst is a big goal.
Nothing fancy. Just presence. Just noticing.
At the end of the week, I’ll check in with myself and reflect on what shifted, what didn’t, and what I learned along the way.
Cleansing and Charging Amethyst
You should cleanse your crystal to remove any negative energy it may hold. Most of the time, I tend to cleanse myself as well. I tend to use Palo Santo due to its ease of use. Here are the ways that you can cleanse Amethyst specifically:
Sage, Palo Santo, or Incense
This is one of the simplest ways to cleanse your amethyst. Light it on fire, wave the flame out, then wave the smoke near your crystal until it is surrounded by smoke.
Salt
Place your amethyst on a bed of sea salt or Himalayan salt for a few hours to overnight. The salt absorbs unwanted energy. Just be sure to discard the salt afterward and keep in mind that salt can be abrasive, so you may want to wrap your crystal in a soft cloth.
Water
Hold your amethyst under cool, running water for a few minutes. As the water flows over it, visualize the unwanted energies washing away. Pat it dry with a clean cloth afterward.
Note: Amethyst is generally water-safe, but avoid prolonged soaking or extremely high-pressure water, as it can damage the stone over time.
It is best to charge your Amethyst with intentions. Here are some examples of intentions that we can use:
I open myself to the healing energy of Amethyst.
I am calm, serene, and at peace with the universe.
I am open to spiritual growth and transformation.
I am connected to my higher self and intuition.
I am attracting positive energy into my life.

A Gentle Invitation for the Week Ahead
If you’re feeling drawn to Amethyst, or to crystals in general, I invite you to approach this week the same way I am. With curiosity instead of pressure. With openness instead of expectation.
You do not need to know everything about a crystal to work with it. You do not need to do it perfectly. You just need to show up and notice what comes up for you.
This practice is not about fixing yourself. It’s about remembering that you’re still here, still learning, still worthy of care.
Weekly Crystal Check-In
At the end of each week, I’ll ask myself a few simple questions and share what I’m comfortable sharing here.
What did I notice while working with this crystal?
How did my body, mood, or thoughts shift, if at all?
What surprised me?
What felt supportive?
You’re welcome to reflect alongside me, whether that’s through journaling, quiet thought, or simply noticing how you feel as the week unfolds.
