Reigniting My Spark: Reflecting on Gold Sheen Obsidian & Beginning Carnelian

Before stepping into this week’s crystal, I want to take a moment to reflect on my time with Gold Sheen Obsidian.

Weekly Crystal Check-In: Gold Sheen Obsidian

What did I notice while working with Gold Sheen Obsidian?

This one felt different right from the start.

It wasn’t loud or overwhelming, but it did feel deeper. There were moments where I caught myself thinking about things I normally would have brushed off or ignored. Not in a heavy way, just… more aware.

I also realized how important my intention was this week. When it was too complicated, I didn’t return to it. Once I simplified it, it became something I could actually use throughout the day.

Did anything shift emotionally or mentally?

I wouldn’t say everything suddenly became clear, but I do feel like I started noticing myself more.

Small patterns. Small reactions. The way I respond to things.

It felt less like change and more like awareness. And I think that matters just as much.

Stepping Into This Week: Carnelian

This week, I’ll be working with Carnelian.

After a week of looking inward, Carnelian feels like a shift in energy.

Where Gold Sheen Obsidian asked me to notice, Carnelian feels like it’s asking me to move.

It’s often connected to motivation, confidence, creativity, and action.

If last week was about seeing clearly, this week feels like it’s about doing something with what I see.

This Week’s Crystal: Carnelian

Carnelian carries a very different energy compared to what I’ve been working with recently.

Where some crystals feel soft and reflective, Carnelian feels warm. Steady. Alive.

It’s often known as a stone of motivation, creativity, and confidence. The kind of energy that doesn’t rush you, but quietly encourages you to take a step forward.

Carnelian is most commonly connected to the sacral chakra, which is tied to creativity, passion, pleasure, and emotional expression. It’s also linked to the root chakra, helping with grounding and stability.

So in a way, it holds both:

  • the spark to create

  • and the steadiness to actually follow through

Historically, Carnelian has been used by ancient civilizations like the Egyptians, who associated it with life force energy and courage. It was often worn for protection and strength, especially in moments that required action and confidence.

And honestly… that feels really aligned with where I’m at right now.

After a few weeks of slowing down, reflecting, and becoming more aware, this feels like a natural shift.

Not into rushing.

Not into forcing.

But into gently moving forward.

A Thought I’m Sitting With

Something I’m already noticing as I step into this week is this:

Just because you see something clearly… doesn’t always mean you feel ready to act on it.

And maybe that’s where Carnelian comes in.

Not to push.

But to support that next step—whenever it feels right.

How I’ll Be Working With Carnelian This Week

Going into this week, I want to keep things simple and intentional.

After last week, I learned how important it is to have an intention that I can actually remember and come back to throughout the day. So instead of overthinking it, I’m choosing something that feels natural and easy to repeat.

Right now, I’m leaning toward something like:

“I take aligned action.”

or

“I trust myself to move forward.”

I’m going to sit with it and see which one feels right as I begin.

Before I fully start, I’ll be cleansing my Carnelian with palo santo smoke, just like I’ve been doing with the other crystals. Taking that moment to pause, reset, and clear the energy always helps me feel more connected to the process.

After that, I’ll hold the crystal and set my intention—keeping it simple, something I can carry with me throughout the day.

This week, I plan to:

  • Wear or carry Carnelian daily

  • Keep it near me when I’m working or creating

  • Check in with myself in small moments instead of waiting for something big

I’m not expecting anything dramatic.

But I am curious to see if I notice:

  • more motivation

  • more creativity

  • or even just a small push to start something I’ve been putting off

And if I don’t feel anything right away, that’s okay too.

I’m learning that not every crystal experience looks the same—and that doesn’t mean it’s not working.

A Gentle Reminder

Movement doesn’t have to be big to matter.

Sometimes it’s just:

  • starting the thing

  • making the decision

  • or even believing you can

And that’s enough.

A Simple Motivation & Creativity Ritual with Carnelian

This is something gentle you can do if you want to connect a little deeper with Carnelian this week.

Nothing complicated. Just a moment with yourself.

1. Find a quiet moment

Sit somewhere comfortable, even if it’s just for a few minutes. Take a couple of slow breaths and let your body settle.

2. Cleanse your crystal

Pass your Carnelian through palo santo smoke, or simply hold it and take a few deep breaths, imagining any heavy energy clearing away.

3. Hold your Carnelian

Place it in your hand or rest it near your lower abdomen (your sacral area). Close your eyes if that feels comfortable.

4. Set your intention

Repeat your intention softly:

“I take aligned action.”

or

“I trust myself to move forward.”

Choose what feels right for you.

5. Visualize a small step

Instead of thinking about everything you need to do, focus on just one small step.

Not the whole journey.

Just the next step.

See yourself doing it. Feel it being simple and doable.

6. Close the moment

Take a deep breath and gently come back. No pressure to act immediately—just awareness.

If You’re Working Alongside Me…

I’d really love to hear from you this week.

You can reflect in your journal, your notes, or even just in your mind:

  • Is there something you’ve been wanting to start, but haven’t yet?

  • Does taking a small step feel exciting… or uncomfortable?

  • What does “aligned action” look like for you right now?

There’s no right or wrong answer here.

Just your experience.

Weekly Reflection Questions

At the end of the week, I like to reflect on:

  • Did I notice any shifts in motivation or creativity?

  • Was it easier or harder to take action this week?

  • Did my intention feel supportive or did I need to adjust it?

  • What did Carnelian bring up for me?

There’s no right answer here. Just awareness.
