🌾 Tarot Spread: Release • Embody • Act

A note from me:

I wanted to show you all how simple tarot can be. As part of my Tarot With Me series on Mondays, I’ll be sprinkling in little spreads like this one—gentle inspiration you can try alongside me as we learn together. I know how overwhelming it can feel when you’re staring down a full tarot deck. My hope is that with each sample reading and a little story here and there, tarot will begin to feel a little more comforting, a little more doable—and even magical.

A cozy three-card spread for when your soul is ready to shift with intention.

Sometimes life asks us to pause and listen to what’s stirring beneath the surface. This gentle spread invites reflection and direction:

✨ What can I let go of?

✨ What strengths do I already hold?

✨ What’s ready for my action and care?

Spread Layout What do I need to release? What do I embody that needs to stay? What do I need to take action on?

🔮 Sample Reading

1. What do I need to release? — Nine of Coins

🪶 This card usually shines with abundance and independence, but here it whispered: “You don’t have to do everything alone.” I've been gripping tightly to self-reliance like a badge, but I’m learning to soften. Releasing the pressure to always have it together creates space to receive support—and deeper connection.

Journal prompts:

  • Where in my life am I trying to prove I can handle everything alone?

  • What am I afraid might happen if I ask for help?

  • How can I gently open to support this week?

2. What do I embody that needs to stay? — Eight of Coins

🛠️ This card reminds me I am already embodying dedication, craftsmanship, and sacred effort. I don’t need to rush or reinvent myself—my steady steps are already enough. My creativity, my commitment to growth, and my devotion to learning are sacred tools.

Journal prompts:

  • What skill, value, or effort have I been tending that deserves recognition?

  • How does it feel to honor my process—even if the world doesn’t see it?

  • Where in my life can I celebrate quiet progress?

3. What do I need to take action on? — Seven of Coins

🌱 The Seven speaks of seasons. It nudges me to pause and evaluate—what’s thriving, what’s draining, and where my energy is best spent. It’s time to weed what no longer grows and reinvest in what truly matters.

Journal prompts:

  • Where in my life am I being called to reassess?

  • What projects, relationships, or habits feel aligned with where I’m going?

  • What small action step could I take this week toward what I truly value?

🕯️ Try This Spread Yourself

Set aside a few quiet minutes. Light a candle, pour a warm cup of something, and pull three cards with the questions below:

The Spread:

  1. What do I need to release?

  2. What do I embody that needs to stay?

  3. What do I need to take action on?

Optional journaling ritual:

  • Choose one card to focus on today.

  • Write down what it brings up for you.

  • End with this gentle affirmation:

“I honor my becoming. I am allowed to shift, soften, and grow.”

🌿 Closing Reflection

This spread reminded me that not all change is about doing more—sometimes it’s about doing less with deeper intention.

If you try this spread, I’d love to hear from you in the comments.
