Tarot With Me: The Magician
Last time, we began our journey with The Fool, stepping into the unknown with open arms and curiosity. This week, we meet the next guide on our path: The Magician—card I of the Major Arcana.
What I’m Learning About The Magician
The Magician stands with one hand pointing toward the sky and the other toward the earth, as if to say, “As above, so below.” On their table are the four symbols of the Minor Arcana—cup, sword, wand, and pentacle—each representing a different element and aspect of life. The message is clear: everything you need is already within reach.
Traditionally, The Magician represents:
✨ Manifestation
✨ Personal power
✨ Focus and intention
✨ Connecting spirit and matter
✨ Using your tools wisely
This card feels both exciting and a little intimidating to me as a beginner. It’s like the moment you realize: “Wait, I can shape my own path—I’m not powerless.” The Magician reminds me that while The Fool took the leap, now it’s time to create with purpose.
Upright vs. Reversed
If you read with reversals, The Magician reversed may suggest scattered energy, manipulation, or a misuse of power. It can also hint at self-doubt or not realizing your full potential.
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m currently only reading cards upright as I get to know them. Reversals may come into my practice later, but for now, I’m keeping things simple and gentle.
Reflections
This card made me think about the tools I already have—spiritual and otherwise—that I often forget to use. The Magician is like a reminder that magic isn’t something far away or out of reach. It’s already here, waiting for me to notice.
What if I’m already more capable than I realize?
A Gentle Invitation
If you’d like, take a moment to pull The Magician from your deck or look up an image of the card.🌿 What tools are showing up in your life right now?🌿 Where can you set clear intentions or focus your energy?🌿 How does it feel to imagine yourself as someone who can create change?
I’d love to hear your thoughts if you feel like sharing—especially if this card sparks something in you.
Blessed Be,
With hands open to the magic within,
Bobbi Ann
