🌙 Monday – Mindful & Magical - Tarot With Me: The Hierophant
Each step on this journey seems to carry a new kind of energy—and this week, we meet The Hierophant, card V in the Major Arcana. This card feels different than the others. It carries a sense of tradition, sacred knowledge, and spiritual structure.

What I’m Learning About The Hierophant
The Hierophant is often shown as a wise spiritual figure—sometimes a pope or teacher—seated between two pillars, like a guardian of sacred knowledge. He usually wears ceremonial robes and a crown, holding a staff or key. Before him, two followers kneel, symbolizing learning or receiving wisdom.
Traditionally, The Hierophant represents:
📜 Tradition and structure
📜 Spiritual teachings or institutions
📜 Sacred rituals
📜 Seeking guidance or mentorship
📜 Honoring the wisdom of those who came before
To me, this card is a bit of a mirror. As someone exploring spirituality on my own terms, I’ve sometimes pulled away from traditional structures. But The Hierophant reminds me that sacred doesn’t have to mean rigid. Wisdom can come from books, from rituals, from ancestors, and from teachers—and I get to choose which ones resonate with me.
Upright vs. Reversed
If you read reversals, The Hierophant reversed can suggest questioning tradition, rebelling against rigid systems, or carving your own spiritual path outside the norm. It may also point to dogma or feeling stuck in outdated beliefs.
As I continue reading my cards upright for now, I’m simply sitting with the upright meaning and allowing it to guide my reflections.
Reflections
This card made me pause and ask:
Where do I seek wisdom?
What traditions or rituals feel meaningful to me?
Am I open to learning, even from sources I wouldn’t normally consider?
The Hierophant reminds me that being a student of life can be a sacred practice. There’s value in asking questions, listening deeply, and allowing yourself to be changed by what you learn.
A Gentle Invitation
🌿 Pull The Hierophant from your deck or find an image of the card online.
🌿 Sit with the symbols—what stands out to you?
🌿 Ask yourself:— What spiritual or personal truths do I hold close?— Where might I benefit from guidance or a trusted teacher?— What traditions (old or new) nourish my soul?
Blessed Be,
A student of spirit and seeker of soft truths,
Bobbi Ann
