With a Tea Ritual to Support Dream Work & Intention Setting

There’s a certain kind of magic in the stillness of evening—a liminal space where day drifts into night, and we’re invited to slow down and listen. Dream work has become a meaningful part of my spiritual practice, and I’ve found that a thoughtfully prepared cup of herbal tea can open the door to deeper intuition and inner connection.
This tea blend brings together seven sacred herbs, each carrying its own energetic gift. Together, they create a potion for rest, release, and rich inner travel.
🌿 Herbal Allies & Their Energetic Intentions
You can blend these herbs yourself in equal parts (or to taste), or you can try the Dream Tea Organic blend from Mountain Rose Herbs—a lovely pre-mixed option with all of the herbs listed below.
Peppermint Leaf – Invigorates the mind and promotes clarity. Ideal for calling in fresh insights and sharpening dream recall.
Chamomile Flowers – Brings relaxation and emotional healing. Soothing for the nervous system and gentle on the heart.
Skullcap – Supports the release of anxiety and encourages emotional resilience.
Mugwort – A powerful plant for dreamwork, lucid dreaming, and intuition. Deeply connected to the subconscious realm.
Damiana Leaf – Sparks creativity, sensuality, and self-confidence. Lovely for heart-opening and intuitive exploration.
Rosemary – Protects and purifies. A guardian herb for dream boundaries and spiritual clarity.
Rose Petals – Carries the energy of love, beauty, and inner grace. Softens the spirit and invites compassionate self-reflection.
🫖 How I Brew It
I pour hot (not boiling) water over a heaping teaspoon or two of the dried blend and steep for 10 minutes or more. The longer I let it sit, the deeper the medicine seems to unfold.
I like to add a bit of sugar or honey—just enough sweetness to ease me into rest. While stirring, I turn this simple act into a quiet ritual.
🌪 Stirring With Intention: A Simple Spell in a Cup
The direction you stir your tea can carry symbolic energy:
Clockwise (to the right): For setting intentions related to growth, clarity, insight, and attraction
Counterclockwise (to the left): For letting go, releasing old patterns, or banishing what no longer serves you
As I stir, I whisper my intention—whether it’s to receive guidance in my dreams, clear my mind, or simply rest. Some nights I imagine the tea glowing with soft light, holding the energy I’ve called in.

🖋 Dreamwork Journal Prompts
After your tea, try journaling with one of these prompts to deepen your dream connection:
What emotions have been rising in me lately, and what might they be trying to tell me?
What patterns or symbols show up often in my dreams?
If my dream last night was a message from my higher self, what might it mean?
Where in my waking life do I need more softness or surrender?
What intention do I want to sleep with tonight?
